1 | MISSION

Development of the overall branding for the 1-point Table Tennis World Championships 2024. From the logo and brand basics to the digital touchpoints and the out-of-home campaign, through to branded tournament tables and a unique trophy - everything from a single source, everything to the point.

The special thing about the World Cup and the idea behind it: Only one point is played. This point makes the game.

It is served with the backhand and the first and only rally decides whether the player is eliminated or advances.

For the second year now, we are partnering with the inventors and organizers of this event: myTischtennis GmbH.

As the main sponsor alongside ARAG Versicherung and the co-organizer Borussia Düsseldorf, we are supporting innovation in the sport of table tennis.

2 | BRANDING & DESIGN

To the point

In the figurative mark, a stylized bat hits a real, raised table tennis ball, forming a stylized 1. This sums up the special playing principle of the World Cup.

Inner peace meets action: a dark, almost black midnight blue meets an action-packed cyan.

From the stylized shape of the racket, alternating surfaces are created in a Fibonacci series, which move evenly scaled to each other and constantly produce new shapes that form the visual playing table for communication.

Striking typography is systematically distributed across this table like a rally, moving from left to right, across the middle and back again. Or not.

The website was designed as a one-pager and provides all information on the 1-Point World Championship, including news, registration and follow-up reports.

3 | EVENT

The event took place on May 25, 2024 at the German Table Tennis Center in Düsseldorf - the epicenter of competitive table tennis in Germany.

With over 400 participants, the World Cup exceeded all of the organizers' expectations and was a complete success. Our overarching branding for the event was present everywhere.

All tournament tables, stands, scoreboards and merchandise were coordinated and gave the event a well-rounded overall look.

The individually designed 1-point table tennis world championship trophy was finally received by the Bundesliga professional and new 1-point world champion Benedikt Duda.
